Job Description
The Head of Contracts / Senior Commercial Contracts Manager will take ownership of all EMEA region contract T&C’s review, negotiation, drafting, execution and management of a small reporting team of legal qualified contracts specialists.
The business is a global leader in its specialised aviation hardware and software technology field with an extremely buoyant order book/new business pipeline for which the EMEA Senior Commercial Manager / Contracts Manager and its team manage a high volume and diverse array of contracts which can vary in value from the £k’s to multimillion £ levels.
Reporting into the international Legal & Contracts directorate the Senior CCM will ensure adherence to global legal contracting strategy while creating and implementing more bespoke contract solutions where required, across all agreement formats: sales, partner and subcontracts ‘deal’ formation at proposal/pre-award, to execution and post-award support.
An opportunity suited to a Senior Commercial Manager/B2B Legal Contracts Manager seeking a leadership role within a global environment while retaining hands-on involvement with the ‘cut and thrust’ of contracts negotiation and drafting. This will include taking a personal lead in high value & complex deal/contract negotiation and implementation inclusive of F2F engagement on a local and international basis.
Key experience required for HOC / Senior CCM – EMEA application:
• Extensive experience in a Senior Commercial Manager / Legal Contracts Manager position within a hardware & software technology and technology services sector environment
• Demonstrable commercial contracts team management guidance, leadership and support (ideally both localised and remote)
• Advanced contract negotiation skills, able to demonstrate delivering legal risk mitigated, commercially advantageous contract outcomes while maintaining positive customer relationships.
• ‘Hands-on’ complex B2B contract T&C’s review, negotiation, drafting, formation and change amendment from pre- award/ proposal to post-award in standard and bespoke forms, remaining hands-on NDA's, MOU's, Bid, tender and proposal documents.
• International contracts and customer engagement, both F2F and at distance (must be able to accommodate international business travel).
• Law / Legal related degree (LLB, LLM) and/or IACCM qualification preferred
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills:- able to develop relationships with local and international internal stakeholder groups (Sales, Project management, Technical, Procurement) and external customer counterparts.
N.B. Existing experience of aviation / aerospace technology would be an advantage but not a prerequisite. The business would be very open to senior commercial manager / legal contracts manager backgrounds from the IT, Telco or any other tech background with transferable CCM skills.
