Job Description

The Commercial & Legal Contracts Co-ordinator will join an established commercial & legal contracts team of a truly innovative c.£40m t/o, highly profitable and continually expanding business group.


As part of the centralised and group-wide commercial contracts team which has been recently restructured with investment in both its people and technology, the Commercial Contracts Officer / Co-ordinator will assist in ensuring the business’s contractual engagements are compliant, risk mitigated, commercially agreeable and where possible advantageous to the business across all areas of the group's activities.


You will work alongside other commercial and contracts specialists reporting to the Senior Commercial Contracts Manager and have interaction across all areas of the business with support, training and career development opportunity within the commercial & legal contracts management discipline.


A fast-paced and varied role which will be involved in NDA review, contracts (customer sales/renewal and supplier/vendor) T&C's analysis, review, coordination and wider commercial administrative duties. You will need some existing professional experience in the coordination and review of B2B contractual T&C’s and interpreting them within the wider commercial context of the business including:


Sales - NDA's, contractual T&C's review, drafting and amendment/renewal

Supplier (procurement) – NDA’s, contractual T&C’s review, drafting and through life SLA management

Wider business commercial administration including sales order processing and commercial/contract process development


The business is long established but in a high growth environment with recent group acquisitions and multimillion £ investment for further growth. As reflected in the salary banding, the role scope can be flexible to existing experience/skill set levels with tailored career development support.


Key qualifications & experience required for Commercial & Legal Contracts Officer / Co-ordinator application:


c.1-3+ years of professional experience in a Commercial Officer / Legal Contracts Officer or similar capacity

Degree qualified, ideally in a Legal related discipline i.e. LLB or beyond (LPC may be of advantage)

Excellent attention to detail with ability to review B2B T&C’s to ensure contracts and wider commercial legal doc's (such as NDA's, MOU's, tenders, sales & supply contracts & partner/licencing agreements etc) are legally compliant, risk mitigated, mutually agreeable and where possible commercially advantageous.

Some basic B2B legal contract drafting and amendment experience

Able to demonstrate good wider ‘commercial business’ awareness and the basic application of contract law within.

First-class written and verbal communication skills able to (with training and support) directly converse and advise on commercial & contractual issues across stakeholder groups.

Adaptable and willing to engage in wider commercial administration and project work.

Analytical and inquisitive in approach.
